Warm days, snuggly nights

Well the days may be warm but the evening and nights are starting to get a bit of a chill to them.  What can be more perfect for your nestling that getting out of the bath and snuggling up with their own little blanket that can take them all the way to bed when the time is right.  Dulcie and Banana blankets are in stock - 4 patterns available.  All are of 100% cotton and are 100cm x 70cm.  These are just perfect for the car and pram as well.  I don't know which one I like best:  Gone Fishing, Autumn leaves, Toot, toot or Sweety tweety.  They are all wonderful.

Last burst of warm weather

Well the cooler days are around the corner  - amazing how quickly the time goes.  I am still in Jordan where life is very different but the same.  Different in that when I am here I stay with friends in a small and rather poor village.  What is missing in financial and material terms is made up for 100 times in social connections and supportive community.  You can never be alone here.  What is the same though, is the bond of family and the love of children.  Here families are very big and while it is not so common to have 12 or 13 children now, 5 or 6 is still the norm.

The first arrivals of winter stock are on line with Andy and Evan for the young nestling lads and Bebe and Fox & Finch baby for both our nestlings.  Hootkid, Milky and more are on the way and you’ll be seeing them soon

In the meantime the last hurrah for summer stock is now on the clearance rack with lovely rompers from Talking Red, handmade of course.  There are four colours to choose from but no matter which you choose your nestling will be a standout in Talking Red.  You’ll see them on the girls clearance rack and the boys clearance rack:

Summer lettuce scarves for Mum are also reduced by 40% .  Just add the code
‘Lettuce’ on checkout.

See you soon

Welcome to Autumn

Winter is almost here!

Well, dear readers.  Greetings from Jordan where it is a touch cooler than home.  Having said that, it looks like the snow has gone for the season.  I am having a wonderful time catching up with very, very dear friends and spending time with Hizran, a young 16 year old girl who I support who lives in a girls orphanage.  Some of the tales I could tell you!  Just makes me want to cry.

I did tell you, didn’t I that winter was going to be fun for nestlings.  Well Minihaha has arrived and I have some truly beautiful Fox & Finch Baby and Bebe products to tempt you with – mind you I don’t think you’ll need much temptation.  I just love the colour mix and the variety.  I mean, a jacket is a jacket – but not with Bebe and Fox & Finch Baby.  They turn jackets that keep you warm into JACKETS!!!!  The same goes with rompers and tees.  I know I have not been doing this for a long while and its been over 27 years since I had a nestling to dress but I just feel this season looks like its going to be brilliant for all nestlings.  Here's two examples perfect for autumn.

Many more things are yet to come and don’t forget that there are still clearance items that need to walk out the door.  Have a look at the Sapling summer clearance items – the cotton is just so soft and designs are beautiful.  So enjoy dear readers and before I go I want to say a big thank you to my “packer” who is following instructions really well but with visual prompts – he’s male after all!!!

Till next week

23 February 2015

Hi Everyone

Greetings from Jordan!  I am on my annual visit to my dear friends in Jordan who I met in 2012 and have visited ever since (it’s a long story!).  I arrived here on Saturday to find the place blanketed in snow.  Yes, it snows in the Middle East.  My quarters here aren’t 5 star, I can guarantee you.  My family that I stay with is very large and we all squeeze into a small apartment with one fairly primitive bathroom.  What they lack in possessions is replaced 1000 fold with generosity and happiness.  The only problem is getting to bed early, as after the evening meal its visiting time and that can go on way into the night.  I will be bringing back with me some lovely treats of Palestinian embroidery for the nest and the nestling!  I have left sending out your parcels to a very competent parcel elf so all is in good hands.  He is following orders well.

By the time I write next week bao bab will have arrived which is rather exciting and Minihaha and Milky will not be far behind it.  So lots of lovelies are on the way.  I have also just placed an order with the very lovely Bamboo Design.  Yum!

I love Charlie Belle, all handmade by Kate from Canberra, but it is time they walked out the door.  All Charlie Belle is now reduced to $5.00 to make room for the packing elf left at home.  While I love this label I do realize now that it is difficult for Mum’s at home to search for it quickly online as they are all different, so lesson learnt for next time, so grab a bargain while you can  - the extra few minutes searching will be worth it.

So until next week, enshalla, ( the Arabic way of saying ‘god willing’)  greetings from Jordan.

Rebecca

Quickly, quickly!

Hi everyone.  I hope back to school has gone smoothly for everyone, especially for the first timers, both nestlings and Mum’s – its hard saying goodbye at the school gate for the first time.

I have a regularly skype time with my little grand nestling.  Sunday afternoon is our time to have girly chat.  She amazes me, every week she has changed and is doing something different, even little things.  Hello, has now been abbreviated to the standard ‘hi’!

Well, let’s get down to business.  The winter stock, as I’ve been saying is just around the corner.  But first to tempt you with is from New York.  Now close your eyes and think of John Fitzgerald Kennedy in the Hamptons for the weekend, maybe a spot of yachting, touch of golf, guests for dinner, and a night cap.  So what does a smart young gentleman wear when JFK and Jacqui ask you to pop around for a while.  Problem solved for our gentleman nestlings – Andy & Evan!  Nice pair of slacks (think of where you are going) and a sweater – elbow patches of courses.  If you are not quite walking yet, don’t worry, smart, sophisticated can still apply to you.  See the collection at:

Don’t forget the clearance racks – still some wonderful finds available.
